  • Render Animation custom range doesn't seem to work

If I choose Render Vray Animation, I get this dialog and understand that if I separate my desired frames by comma, it will render frames in this order. However, I only got the first frame and the animation stopped. Is there somehting else I need to do?

Modo's "custom frame range" is new in 12, so I'm guessing v-ray just doesnt support it yet. The good news is v-ray already has its own custom frame range.

    1) Use top menu > v-ray > render animation with v-ray > override frame range.

I think you can also set it on the render item > frame > v-ray > use custom range

I haven't actually tested any of this though, so let us know how it goes

          Hey, Daniel.

          Thank you for the feedback.

If you want to render an animation with V-Ray for Modo, you can use V-Ray Standalone GUI | RT or bucket render. Please Go To "V-Ray" Menu -> from the pop-up menu select "Render animation with V-Ray ..." . Please use the semicolon as separator. I will upload a video later. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mBu...kpkYio8Km/view

          Cheers,

            Thanks Boyan,

It looks like v-ray uses semicolons ";", NOT commas. You can see this in the custom range tooltip and the docs here: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/.../V-Ray+in+Modo

Custom frame ranges ? Renders only specified frames. Formatted by numbers separated by semicolons. (IE: 1;4;6;25-34
