  • Vertex Map Texture...

....or Weight Map Texture, as it is named on the compatibility page.

"Currently this texture works only when applied on V-Ray Proxy geometry."

Do you think a full implementation of the feature would be possible soon, maybe in a nightly build before the V-Ray Next/Modo release ?

It would be very useful to do some quick masking without having to create / save / apply bitmap mask, or to unwrap the model. ( so we would have a killer combo with the Triplanar node )

    Thanks,
    Pierre

Sorry, no news, it's on the todo list, but unclear when I might be able to implement it.

Too bad, it's been 3 years since the first release. I am very happy with V-Ray for Modo but I would have thought that in the meantime this basic feature would have been implemented.

Anyway, thanks for the answer and the transparency Vladimir.

It's really sad that weights maps are not supported.
