  • VrayLensEffects as Convolve

The Vray Lens Effects node is very very slow to process but the GPU accellerated Convolve node is very very fast. Is there a way to export the lens effect as a kernel and simply process that on the farm? We're also encountering an error where our workstations render fine but multiple frames on the farm results in the first frame rendering and then it just aborting and getting stuck in a weird processing loop until we disable the node in the graph.

I tried rendering out a single pixel run through the VrayLensEffects node and then using that as a convolve node but that was a failure.

    Hi,
currently this is not possible. The convolution is implemented in the Lens Effects Node. How much faster is this Convolve node? Our convolution should be well optimized. There could be an issue there, have you tried to turn off hardware acceleration. Normally, the hardware acceleration should be about three times faster.

    Best,
