So if you been using v-ray nuke lately and tried to render some trees or added a Roto shape to a card to cast a very specific shadow you may have noticed that the shadow is not piking up the Alpha feed in to the opacity map!
this is a bug! sorry.
If this is a show stopper for you and you reeeeeellllly need that shadow there is a way! its a crazy hack but it works!
instead of plugging in your alpha to the opacity input in the vraymtl node. enable refraction! (ye not kidding ) and set IOR to 1 and enable the tick box Effect shadow.
this will give you the same effect.
