  • VRayDenoiser works with images done with progressive sampler?

Does this only work with renders done with the bucket sampler mode? When I render out with progressive sampler, it hardly notice any denoise effect in Nuke when I pipe renders through VRayDenoiser. As changing to rendering with Bucket mode, the VRayDenoiser node denoise as usual.

I am using VRay for Maya nightly build 27280 on Windows 7.

    Thanks!

It should work fine. Is the noiseLevel element created properly? Is it possible that you opened an older scene where the variance-based sampling was disabled?

    Best regards,

Thanks Vlado. Let me double check on those and get back to you.

Where do you place the denoiser node? At the end of the pipe? or as far down the pipe as you can before other elements get added over top?

It's best if you add it before adding other things on top of it.
