  • Cosmos Content Scaling issue in Vray Vision

Placed some cosmos content to try them out in a render. The rendering looks just like I would expect, but when I load up vray vision, the scaling is huge but flattened.

    Hi cnd7jones ,

We're aware of the issue and have been working on a fix. By chance, have you rotated those assets using the Objects tab rotation?

Ana, i think i only used the space bar during placement to rotate them. I did try mirroring in revit and noticed it only mirrored the revit geometry and not the vray proxy.

Ah much better! Ok now, next question....any chance at some point we can get a button that enables more of a high quality lighting solution? As you can see, while the geometry and textures are represented accurately, the image is lacking all lighting information.

So it is supposed to contain artificial lights, am I getting it correctly? Have you enabled those lights from the respective button on the V-Ray toolbar? (there is a button for enabling artificial lights)
And another question - have you enabled automatic EV in Vision itself?

Yep you got it sorry....Yeah, have both Artificial and Vray Sun enabled. if i turn off exterior lighting and just leave on the interior it's starting to look correct just no bounce lighting. and yes autoexposure is turned on. i thought if i turned down the multiplier on HDR/Sun it would work but not doing anything.

Oh and to be fair, i guess it doesn't have to have "bounce" light but, any type of ambient + direct would suffice.

Well, I made a simple test using Revit's basic sample project with a light and an hdr from Cosmos. I tried with both Sun and Dome light, with reduced intensity. In Vision, besides that the EV is set to auto, I also adjusted the exposure compensation parameter which can be found under the settings menu.
Both examples are attached. Oh, and I also adjusted the environment light position in Vision (by holding the Ctrl key plus moving the mouse left-right/up-down with its left button pressed).

So, I assume there could be something in your scene that hasn't been setup yet. (May be you can send it over for a quick look at ana.lyubenova@chaosgroup.com)
