  • Chaos Cosmos problem

i have a problem uploading the cosmos assets to any Revit file.
When i drag any object it doesent do anything. And when i check in the families, there is no object with the name i upload.
Anyone can help me with that? thanks.

    Hi Jose,

Can you provide more details about how you drag Cosmos objects? Mind that Cosmos assets cannot be imported by dragging. You need to download them first and then click the Import button (like shown on that page).

      Hi Ana,
thanks for your help. But i couldn´t even try.
When i start Vray in Revit the option to Chaos Cosmos isn´t available.
      It says the message:
"something went wrong while conecting to Chaos Cosmos browser"

      Thanks,

      José

        Hi José,

        Please, try the following solutions:

        1. Restart Chaos Cosmos browser from Windows start menu. (Type in "Cosmos" in the search bar to access the start/stop functionalities)
        2. If the above doesn't help. Shut down Revit and uninstall the Cosmos browser. (This could be executed from the start menu too.) Then install its most recent version from the following link. Reopen Revit and see if that solves the problem
        3. If both the above solutions don't help, please send us the cb log file from C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup\ChaosCosmos

          Hi Ana,
          thanks for your message.
The problem for Chaos Cosmos has been solved by uninstall it and install by the link you send.
But i stil can´t import any object to my Revit file from Cosmos. When i use the import option doesn´t import anything to the scene.
I send to you the cb file.

            José,

In addition, can you also send us the V-Ray for Revit log file after performing the following steps:
            1. In a fresh Revit session, attempt to import Cosmos asset in your model
            2. Once it hangs the way you showed it on the screenshot, navigate to C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Chaos Group\V-Ray for Revit 20xx\Logs (where 20xx is your Revit version)
            3. From the above folder, send us the most recently generated .log file

            Thanks,
            Ana

                  Hi again José,

Our dev team have also requested the config.json file of Cosmos. It can be found in the same folder as the cb log, i.e. C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup\ChaosCosmos

                  Thanks,
                  Ana

                      José,

Please, try deleting the following file cpkg.db located at C:\Users\sismanager.JFAENGENHARIA\Documents\Chaos Cosmos\Packages (prior to deleting it, you can save a backup copy of it for any case)
Then restart Cosmos Browser (as described in point 1 of message #4 above).
Launch Revit after that and retry importing a Cosmos asset. Let us know if it works.

                      Best,
                      Ana
