    "V-Ray: Error building Embree static ray caster, error message: [CommitEmbreeThread::threadProc] 4: Committing scene failed"

    I am receiving the above error when increasing the resolution of a render. Is this a RAM issue?

    Hi,

    Yes, it is a RAM issue. You can try any of the following options:
    1. increase Edge Length of displacement items;
    2. use 2D Displacement instead of Normal Displacement mode;
    3. increase the RAM of your device.

    Please advise if that has solved the issue.

      Hi, thanks for confirming.

      There is no displacement in the model, in fact the only materials are a diagrammatic white material and glass. It is a very large model though.

      Interestingly RAM usage never goes above 90% before the error occurs.

      I will look into upgrading RAM.

        Anthony, if that model is not confidential, will you mind sending it to us for inspection?

          I'm afraid that the model is confidential at this stage so I would not be able to send it.

            Hello,
            I discovered the topic having myself had this error in my scene.
            I had larger scenes without errors. Why this one?
            Quite simple solution, add a subdivision modifier on the object, even if it is very simple.
            No more errors on my scene, the rendering is done normally.
