  • Changing Chaos Cosmos Default Directory to a Central Server for Shared Access in Revit

Currently, the Chaos Cosmos path directory is set to save in my local Documents folder. This means that any downloaded materials, 3D objects, or HDRI files are stored on my local drive. The issue is that if I switch to another computer, I cannot access these files since they are stored locally. Is there a way to change the default Chaos Cosmos directory to a central server location, ensuring that Revit files remain accessible and the file paths remain consistent across all computers on our server?

    Hi katmerka_ramic,

If you want to use the Chaos Cosmos models/materials, you need to use a shared network location (Can I use the Cosmos Library in a shared network setup?) that is reachable from all of the computers in your office network. You need to change the download directory of the Chaos Cosmos to be at the same shared location on every computer in your office network.

You could read more about it in the moving assets to a different location at the link below - https://docs.chaos.com/display/COSMO...load+Directory

Keep in mind that it is good practice to use a shared location for all of the materials, textures, assets, etc. that you are using in your company.
