  • Material Editor Missing

After updating, the material editor is missing as a stand alone editor. Is there a plan to have materials displayed in the material browser similar to the Sketchup version?

I also have this in my task manager. What is up with all these electron's running?

From what I see on the screenshot, the vrmat editor process doesn't display correctly in Task Manager. You have run it multiple times; however it has fallen off the screen.
Are you using 2 monitors with different resolutions, by any chance?
Can you right click on the Windows taskbar and select the Cascade Windows option? This will show off all windows that you have opened including the hidden ones.

And to answer your other question - yes, we have plans to improve the material browser.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Ana, I have 2 monitors. One 1920 x 1200 and the other one is 1280 x 1024. Same as the setup using Vray in Revit 2017. I don't see the option any longer for a stand alone material editor. I already rebooted and no longer have all those electron's running (what are they?).

I'll try to explain it once again. The Vrmat editor process name displays incorrectly in Task Manager. It displays as Electron instead.
You have launched the Vrmat editor 20+ times. Since the Task Manager displays the Vrmat editor process incorrectly, you see 20+ Electrons loaded.

Since you are using 2 monitors with different resolutions, I assume that the Vrmat editor has fallen off the screen due to screen settings. It is opened but you cannot see it.
Therefore go to Windows Taskbar, right click there and select Cascade Windows. If you are using any other OS, let me know.

"I don't see the option any longer for a stand alone material editor." -> Can you clarify what do you mean? Which option and where?

Ana, I did not check this forum for awhile and Had to rebuild by computer from a failed hard drive. I think some of my issues may have been failing hard drive related. I don't have multiple Electron in the task manager now.

I also solved the material editor. Before I rebuilt the computer, the executable for material editor was missing from the chaosgroup program folder. So the only way I could start the editor was to open a material in the material browser. Hope that makes sense.
