  • GPU Rendering not Working

    Hi all,

So, I just bought a MSI GTX1080 Ti to try and speed up my render times. For whatever reason, it has made zero difference compared to my previous card GTX970. To add insult to injury my GPU vs CPU render times are virtually identical. I have had MSI afterburner running while rendering and the GPU isn't doing a thing, it's virtually idle. I was under the impression that you could use your GPU to render images? Also my CPU launches to 100% when I render an image, making my machine run very slow. Can someone from Chaosgroup please advise on how to configure my settings to load up my GPU rather than my CPU?

    Thanks, Nick

I would be interested to know this as well.

      Hi Nick,
You can use the GPU only in interactive (RT) rendering.
What are your CPU and RAM? The V-Ray for Revit version that you use?

        Hey Ana,

Thanks for the information, I gave it a test run last night and the GPU worked very well with the RT rendering. I feel I will be using the RT render for all my renders from now on. Are there plans to make GPU rendering available for the "Standard" render? It seems abit behind the times to have a renderer relying on a CPU. Especially with the quality GPU's that are available at the moment.

        My CPU
        i5-4590 CPU 3.30GHz with 16GB Ram.

        Thanks, Nick
