  • No DR nodes found - Please help.

    Hi all,

Hope everyone is well and can assist me with my problem.

I keep getting the same warning message with Vray. I've made many attempts to solve this issue but cannot find a solution.

If someone can please assist me with this, it would be very much appreciated.

I've tried reinstalling Vray, checked my network configuration, followed the tutorial instructions to set it up and gone into settings to resolve it but still nothing!

Please see the attached pics for the error message and version I've installed on Revit 2018.

    Thank you!

    Hello, GRAND!

On how many machines have you installed V-Ray Swarm? If you open the V-Ray Swarm interface on one machine (http://<machine_ip>:24267 from another machine, or better - http://localhost:24267 from the machine on which V-Ray Swarm is installed) what do you see on the "Network" page? Can you send us a screenshot of the page?

    Regards,
    Plamen

      Hi Plamen,

Thanks for the reply. Just the one machine. My network says it's enabled and have the TAGS set up and what not... Still no luck. I'm a bit let down honestly and as impressive as the product is, it's just not working for me.

        Hello,

V-Ray Swarm is a tool that allows you to utilize the existing hardware resources, that you already have access to and it only makes sense to use it, if you have more than one machine available and you want them to render together - e.g. you have three computers that you want to use for rendering, you can initiate the rendering from one of them and have the other two join, using the V-Ray Swarm. In that example the first computer is acting as a workstation and will need the 3D platform and V-Ray installed on it, the other two are acting only as render nodes and will only need V-Ray Swarm.

The documentation page provides additional information about the configuration and usage of Swarm:

        https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAYSWARM

If there is only one machine that has V-Ray Swarm installed and you are initiating the rendering from that same machine, that can explain why no nodes are found, as the error message says.

I've had a Chaos Group Support member assist me with my question via email and he has given me a better understanding of this. I'm still new to all this and have confused this with cloud rendering. I thought having the extra nodes will boost my PC rendering performance on the one machine.

Big thanks to the Chaos Support team for the quick response and for giving me the assistance I need.

Thanks to Stefan Isakov for the valued customer support.

Thank you to Ivaylo Marinov and Plamen for the reply!

          Apologies for the confusion!
