  • V-Ray 3.7 unable to obtain license

    I have installed the V-Ray 3.7 update and am now unable to obtain a license when clicking the acquire license button.

    Also, the web link that pops up http://localhost:30304/ says that it cannot be reached. I have tried to reinstall the license server also with no luck.

    What do i need to do to fix?

      What's the Windows OS version you're using?
      Also - does the license server installation finishes correctly? If it does - can you open "Run->services.msc", right - click on "VRLService" and try to start it?

        Windows 10 version 1803.

        I tried to right click and start "VRLService as you mentioned and received a pop up " Windows could not start the VRLService service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"

                      Thanks for you help but it doesn't work.
                      When I try to acquire, I've got browser error : localhost 30304 isn't accessible.
                      I've tried to switch off my firewall but not better.

                        I was instructed to uninstall the license server and remove any files in the c:\program files\common files\chaosgroup. After that I reinstalled the license server and it worked.

                          I also had this issue. I did the same, deleted all chaosgroup files then reinstalled the license server first. It would read the 30304 port at that time. Then install Vray. Worked for me.

                            Hey,
                            Thanks for your help but it doesn't work for me. I've try to remove all my chaosgroup product (even my Sketchup installation).
                            Desinstall
                            Remove all
                            Reboot
                            Install licence server,
                            Install V-Ray
                            Reboot
                            Launch Revit
                            Click on ACQUIRE LICENCE
                            And always same answer... Can't use it and Need it :/
