We are thinking about moving from 3dsMax to Revit. Will VRay produce the same kind of results (see picture) in Revit as in 3ds Max? In this model building I have IES files being used for lighting. In using the trial version of Revit I learned that in order to run light analysis I have to use cloud credits for rendering. This will not allow me to run my own calculations on my own machine. Will VRay for Revit allow me to do this?

Hi CMP_Design ,
Such limitations apply only to Revit itself. As long as your machine characteristics meet the minimum requirements on our end, you are able to render with V-Ray locally utilizing all its features.
Yes, like in 3Ds Max, V-Ray Lighting Analysis render element is available in Revit and more info about it can be found in our official documentation (link here). To see how exactly it works, I'd recommend you to watch the following webinar where Lighting Analysis demo starts at 54:00.
Let me know if you need any additional assistance.

I see and understand the Lighting Analysis Render Elements. But what I would like to know is if V-Ray for Revit has the V-Ray Light Meter as in 3ds Max so that I could use the light meter at a specified height off the floor and calculate the meter and view it from a plan view as show in the image above from 3ds Max

Unfortunately, we don't have it in Revit, as Revit limits us and we can't draw or paint anything within any of its views.Ana Lyubenova
