  • Revit Artificial Lighting Support

The documentation states that V-Ray Revit fully supports Revit lights, but it is unclear which parameters are supported.
Support all of the following light shapes and distribution?
    or Only IES distribution ?

    https://knowledge.autodesk.com/suppo...380E6-htm.html

Also, do support all the lighting fixtures included in Revit?

    Hi Yuji,

All 16 combinations for light shape and distribution are supported (4 of them include IES). Most of the family built-in Photometric parameters are also supported, excluding the Dimming Lamp Color Temperature Shift and the Light Loss Factor.
And yes, all families of type Lighting Fixture are supported by V-Ray.

    Best,
    Ana

The above relates only to native Revit lights.

A user just asked me in PM if they need to add a light source to Cosmos lights. The answer is "no". Although being Revit families, Cosmos lights are a bit different, as they have a native V-Ray light embedded into them.

        Hello, Ana

Thank you for the details. It was very helpful.
My customer wanted to get a lighting analysis element in V-Ray Revit based on artificial lighting.
I can explain to customers that V-Ray supports all Revit lighting.
