  • Vray for Revit tab greyed out

No matter which view I'm currently opening, plan, section, elevation, 3d parallel, 3d perspective, sheet view, the tab is always in grey. I tried several times to uninstall and re-install it, didn't work at all.

    My Revit version is 2017.2.2.

    Any advice will be appreciated.

    Thank you

Simply click on the Acquire license button.

      Hi Any,

Thanks for the reply, I forget to mention it is a trial version, and I tried to click acquire license button, but pop-up window showed unable to acquire license.

And I've attached few more screen shots here, please help me out.

      Many thanks.

Seems that the license server is correctly activated, so - make sure you have the correct build downloaded and installed ( "V-Ray 3.50.02 for Revit 15, 16, 17 and 18 TRIAL" in your case - can be downloaded from https://download.chaosgroup.com/ )
Also - the license settings should point to the computer that has V-Ray license server installed - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...cense+Settings
If that's the same computer you use Revit and V-Ray on - you can use "localhost" or it's default IP address 127.0.0.1 in the license server configuration.

After you make changes - restart Revit and try acquiring a license.

            Hi Ivan,

Thank you for your very detailed explanation. Unfortunately, it did not work as I wished.

When I was trying to change the server IP address, got one message showed: Could not save settings. And I did the uninstall and re-install again, just noticed some error message in the command window, I've attached all the screen shots here, so maybe it could give you more info for my case.

Sorry to bother you guys again and again.

Try right clicking on "Change V-Ray Client License Settings" and Run as Administrator.
