  • Change material position for element

    Hi,

I'm rendering curtain wall panels as wood shingles. Is it possible to shift the position the texture has on the geometry for every object? To avoid every piece looking exactly the same.

    Thanks,

    Hi Cerevian,

Curtain wall panels are mapped as single geometries. Therefore, you can consider the material map size to fit the panel size. To randomize panel appearance, however, you need either to use a few different panel types in Revit or use an entirely different approach.
For example: use a standard wall (or roof) and assign a V-Ray material to it. You can use these roof shingles from the V-Ray for Revit material library: C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\V-Ray for Revit\vrmateditor\materials\Various\RoofTiles_A01_ 100cm.vrmat. You can adjust their height, width and rotation to fit the appearance you are looking for.

    Best,
