  • Denoiser Issue

When I render with the Denoiser Channel engaged. it renders quickly until it reaches 99%, then it stops for a long time (45min) before denoising. I often just stop the render as I get frustrated waiting for it to finish. Is this a bug? Vray 3.60.04 Revit 2018

    Thanks
    Gregg

    Hi,

Does this problem occur with a specific project or with any Revit project you render?
Do you render in production mode or in interactive?
The exact V-Ray for Revit version is the one at the bottom of the About box. Can you let us know if it's 3.60.01 or 3.60.02?
What quality and resolution settings do you use?
Is it a complex Revit model with linked files in it or a simple scene?

    Regards,

Ana, My version is 3.60.02. I render in Production mode. It happens with both High and Medium resolution (I don't use low or draft). I usually select the screen resolution. Not a highly complex revit file, it is a restaurant with tables and chairs, etc. No linked files. This behavior may not be a denoising issue. The rendering progress proceeds up to 99% and stays at that level for a really long time. Is there a way to limit how many passes is considered a finished image?

        Hi Gregg,

Currently, there is no way to limit the passes unless you export a vrscene file, change settings in it manually and then render it with V-Ray Standalone.
A few more questions: What are the denoiser settings that you use? Do you set the Sampler to Progressive or to Buckets? Which engine do you use for rendering? What is your computer configuration?

        Regards,
        Ana

Gregg, let me do some tests and I'll contact you back. We might have a bug here.

            Have a nice weekend,
