  • Glass Material problem or what?

    Hi everybody...

I'm trying to render a test block with some windows in it, but seems like I cannot obtain a decent result....
I tried with the default vrmat provided by Revit, and some downloaded from the internet, but nothing worked.

I think it's because in the house there's no light, in fact in the top we can see the glass working good, in the bottom
the windows are dark... I'm trying to light the room with some light, but how?
I tried to tweak the preferences in the light fixtures, but nothing considerable... But I mean, shouldn't they have
at least the light at the projection of the windows? I don't understand what happened

How can I show properly the lights in the room? Or is not needed?

    Thanks everybody

    Hi carmine.lb ,

Can you send us the file? It will be easier to look at it instead of guessing..
    Thank you!

This is another test I made.... It got better but I have to put many windows in the room... How can I light up the room, so that from the outside is lit?

        The file is at:

It is easy to adjust the exposure value of the camera.
Because of the forced brightness control due to the exposure value, if the number of windows increases, a more natural indoor brightness will be formed.

zees thank you for your help, I made to light the interior...

I have only left the "exterior appearance" of the room... If you take a look at post #1, you'll see I have problems showing the the interior with a decent light... It's something that cannot be achieved with the exposure value,
since it will "burn" the exterior light look.. How can I solve that?

            Thanks!

The image draws primarily light, and precisely the rays of light. If the rays are not enough, the picture will not be there either. Try to do this: create a room in the shape of a cube with a side equal to 4 m. Insert a window with a height of 2 m and a whole width in one wall. The direction of entering the sun's rays is set so that they fall through this window: eg that the sun shines from the west side and the window was also from the west. walls and ceiling make white and the floor is gray, neutral. You'll see what then. I think that the windows are too small for the floor area. Regulations say about the size of windows to the floor 1/8 (0.125).

                Hi carmine.lb ,

Here is what I would do:

                1. Use a perspective view instead of ortho
                1. Replace the glass material with a V-Ray one (from the V-Ray library)
                2. Use dome light instead of a sun. This will provide realistic reflections on the windows

Actually, you can use sun set to a very very low intensity (like 0,0001). Put some lamps inside the house and turn them on and then again play with the EV setting. Set it to something low like 4. With the dome, however, you can achieve more realistic results.

                Best,
                Ana
