  • RPC Proxy not working

I have just attempted to replace an RPC person with a 3D proxy, but it isn't working.

I have inserted a RPC person into Revit. Then in the Asset Browser I enabled the proxy for that RPC person, which prompts for a .vrmesh file. I find a .vrmesh I created from Sketchup and saved on our server. When I render, the regular RPC person still shows instead of the proxy.

PS I also tried adding an asset location in settings for where the .vrmesh is located, still nothing.

Personal experience, I needed to fine-tune the scale, rotation, and position after loading vrmesh from the asset editor.

I discovered my problem. I wasn't using the correct component: you must use a 3D proxy rpc object.

BUT now I have a new problem, there is no material slot for any proxies. I cant change the color or the materials.

This is because of the export settings of the 3D model you use. Where did you take the vrmesh from? Have you exported it from another V-Ray product or you have converted a 3D object to vrmesh?

I exported it from Sketchup. So far it seems that sometimes it will work and sometimes not. At the moment the materials have loaded just fine and map perfectly.

When you export from Sketchup, make sure you have assigned materials to all geometries.
