  • Problems with rectangulat light

    Hi,
I have a problem with a rectangular light I put on the ceiling to illuminate more my scene.
this light is doing some shadows on the walls.
do you know how I can fix that?
here is a printscreen from the 3d and one render showing the problem
    thansk for your answer.

    Hi Thomas!

It is always better to model the exact light fixture in the ceiling, and creating individual lights for each fixture.
But for a quick workaround, you can try to scale down your light, and change the shape to "elliptical" in the light settings in the asset manager (if you are using vray 3.6)

I would place the light (flip the normal and single sided) above the ceiling plates and use a plates material where I disabled shadows. So, you could bring light upward to the room. If the ceiling looks to dark, use 210 for the walls and 255 for the ceiling.

Or could you make the size of your current light smaller with some distance to the walls?

You could duplicate the ceiling, drop it a few milliliters and make it a mesh light, check invisible and uncheck shadows ...
