VRAY NEXT and Worksession

I think that the worksession instances are not read by NEXT.

I have a pretty large project, divided in three main parts which I combine using worksession.
It was rendering fine until VRAY 3.4. We just move to NEXT and now the referenced files are not rendering anymore (even tho they are correctly loaded and displayed by rhino).

I tested it with a dummy file as well and the problem persist. All works fine if referencing blocks....

The cause of your problem has already been identified. Our developers are currently working on a fix. The solution will be available in the upcoming update v4.00.02.

I just updated to vray 5 for rhino and I am also having this problem. when I worksession models they render out as all grey. Is there an update or fix for this?

Apologies for the extremely late reply!
V-Ray for Rhino currently does supports only some basic functionality of Rhino worksession models.

The cause of the issue you reported may be one of the following:

1. You have at some point used V-Ray Asset Editor's "purge unused materials" button. Currently, V-Ray does not registers materials from worksession models as actually being applied to objects.
2. The worksession models have been done using an earlier V-Ray version than the one used in your main file. When opening an old file V-Ray prompts a migration of the data serialized within the project. When attaching a 3dm that contains old V-Ray data as a worksession model, the migration process is not triggered. Therefore, materials may not be read. The workaround for this is to first open the 3dm separately and save it after V-Ray migrates the data stored in it.
