  • How to save the rendering without transparency, so that the background is kept?

    Hi,

I have to render a lot of images and I want to keep the background visible, no alpha should be used for the saved image. How can this be done?

I'm still looking for a solution and I found the old thread here:
    https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...ngo-animations

An other example where an disabled alpha is needed, if some one render an animation (for example per Bongo) and like to get the background at the rendered frames.

I would be very glad if a solution could be found now without to need to beg for an answer/workaround/solution anymore. Please try to solve the tiny task.

I think it depends on the output file format you are using and the lighting system (vray sun + vray sky or hdri, etc)

        Hi,

        Apologies for the late reply!

The old forum topic you have referenced provides the working solution!

In the Render Output > Save Image > Image Options > Alpha parameter, you can set No Alpha

          Hi georgi.georgiev,

I tried it and it doesn't work like I expect. Here my setup at a screenshot. If I save the rendering to my project dir than the image still have an alpha. Also, I wouldn't be glad to save an extra image to the temp dir, since for large shots the long save time will be longer again.

It would be great if the PNG settings could be used for the users manual save, but without the automatic saved untitled.png.

The problem to solve is that the user should be able to save png without included alpha.

(The automatic save function isn't useful since not every test rendering needs to be saved and if always the same name is used, than the previous rendering is overwritten.)

          Best -
