  • Exploding file size

    Hi there,

Just opening a file (older vray version - one year ago) containing a lot of proxies and then saving it without changing anything increases the file size 20times (!) of the original file. Could you please explain what is happening here and how to avoid it? Thanks, Toni

Could you pack the Rhino file into rar (or zip, but rar is smaller) and send the file to support@...?

Ok, no I did some forest scattering and it seems like this is a general issue. Filesize got a lot bigger than it should when working with proxies. I have send you a file this morning, so please fix this as soon as possible, I'm using this off time to work on all my proxy libraries. Thanks!

          Hey there,
I have sent you the packed file via wetransfer. Please download it as it will be only available until the day after tomorrow.

            Hello toniboni

I was able to inspect the project and it seem that having the "Save Textures" checkbox enabled when using the "Save as" option produces this huge file, as it embeds the textures (which are quite a lot and very sizable) into the file. After turning it off and saving the file, the size is reduced to the expected ~36mb size. This will also keep the smaller size of the Rhino file when V-Ray's Pack Project tools is used after that.

Please confirm if this is the case.
