  • Different IES files in VRay Next for Rhino do not show differences in rendering images

    Hi,

I have a problem related to Vray IES lighting. When I have used three different IES files in VRay next for Rhino, rendering does not show the differences lighting intensity between them. Whereas, VRay for 3ds max does show the differences between these files in rendering.

Currently, I have to use Honeybee for Grasshopper to conduct some lighting calculations. So, using VRay for Rhino will be more accessible for me during my work on my files, but I have faced this problem in Vray for Rhino. Is it a limitation in Rhino or is there some settings that I have to consider in rendering?

Images below indicate that the rendering by using VRay for 3ds max show a clear visual differences between three different intensities of lighting, while in VRay Next for Rhino does not show any differences.

    Thank you ..

    Hello,
Have you by chance enabled the "Auto" button for Exposure Value in V-Ray for Rhino? Please make sure a constant EV value is used in both shots.
If this suggestion does not help, please state the full version number of V-Ray for Rhino you are using and share the Rhino scene with us for investigation (either as a forum private message or at support@chaosgroup.com).

    Kind regards,
    Peter
