  • White background problem, diamond jewellery

    Hi all,

I'm having an issue getting a pure white background whilst still maintaining the look of my models. Those are two diamond set engagement rings.

I've looked around at other posts that mention turning the dome light to invisible and overriding reflection/refraction with the dome light HDRI, which does work to get a pure white background. However the diamonds look completely different using this process. Some turn dark etc. I can't help but think I'm missing something here.

What I'm trying to achieve is a pure white background and not change the look of the scene through turning my dome light to invisible.

Thanks for any help on the subject.

    Regards,

    Jean

This is my scene attached. I've tried adding lights to brighten up the stones but yeah, it's salvaging work. My animation is entirely different to when my dome light is set to visible.

Hey, can you save the assets (textures and dome light). Think you can use the pack project under the V-ray pull down menu.

Hi, thanks for proposing your help. I worked out the issue in the end. I was moving from an infinity plane to a small plane blending with the background. As a result a lot more of my HDRI was showing. Also turns out the newly exposed area was black. I went back to edit the Hdri to rid it of this black area and now back on track. Happy days.
