  • Frame buffer get lost in the background and ...

After some time of usage the frame buffer stays in the backround and can't be accessed anymore. Closing and start a new rendering doesn't help. The interactive viewport mode is gone too. No way to see a render output. OK, the old recommended workaround - switching to Rhino render and back to V-Ray helps. But like noted a half year before (Rhino 6 and VfR4) - the frame buffer setup get lost by this workaround, so it's not a nice workaround. I'm at Rhino 7 and VfR5.

    Hi Micha,

Can you let us know a few things:
    1. Does this happen with a specific project or it could happen with any?
    2. Is the VFB window stuck behind all other windows, or is it completely gone?
    3. Can you describe the exact steps taken before this behavior occurs - are you doing something on the VFB itself / Rhino / V-Ray for Rhino / any other software?
    4. Are any other 3rd party plugins in use when the issue occurs?
    5. If you have more than 1 Rhino sessions open, does this happen only with the VFB on a particular session, or does it break for each opened one?
    6. Is the VFB window not responding, and if not, would the following workaround help bring it back:
    Focus the VFB
    Click 'Alt' + 'Space'
    Select 'Move'
Use one of the arrow keys to stick the VFB to the mouse pointer
    Move it in view

      1. I use Rhino|VfR5 for one project and tests only at the moment. I got the issue of the hidden interactive mode only at the project file, but I don't how to repeat the situation. My hope was it's the old issue like written here https://discourse.chaosgroup.com/t/v...missing/786/13 and the priority could be set higher. Or was it fixed?

      2. The VFB was only visible as preview at the task bar. The VFB was not accessible, so, maybe we could say complete gone. But I wasn't able to repeat it today, so I can tell more. I will keep my eyes open and come back, if I find more.
