  • GH Proxy Material can´t be referenced

    Hello,

I have troubles making a GH Scatter script work, because I cant reference the Proxies Material.
Since the referencing of the Proxy material is part of the Proxy and not a seperate Multimaterial anymore.
In the past I used to load the Multimaterial into the Project and referenced it from there but this does not work anymore.
If I render via V-Ray Render in GH it still works but The V-Ray Render in Project results in none or black rendering of the Proxies.
    Its stuck und Transferring... aswell.

    I´m glad for any advise

    Hi alexander_albiez,

There are many ways to set this up:

    1. Instancing the Proxy Mesh itself.
Connect all the materials that the proxy needs to the Proxy Mesh Material slot (in the correct order).
V-Ray will automatically create the Multi Material at render time.
Then you can connect a list of Planes to the Plane input of the Mesh and you're good to go:

    2. Using a V-Ray Instancer.
Connect all the materials that the proxy needs to the Proxy Mesh Material slot (in the correct order).
V-Ray will automatically create the Multi Material at render time.
Connect a list of Planes to a V-Ray Instancer (trough a Move component) and plug the Proxy Mesh in the Instancer's V Geo input:

Alternative material assignment can be done by creating the Multi Material in the Asset Editor and then referencing it in the GH definition:

    Hope that helps,
    Konstantin
