Pack scene is always asking me to save the scene before Pack

Hi Guys
Pack scene is not working for me. I just open a new scene and try to pack it and the Saving message appear. This should not be happening because I haven't made any change to it, I just open it. Anyway, I saved the scene and try to pack the scene again and the same Saving message appears even that I just saved the scene.
Any solution for this. I have to share a lot of scenes and assets with my teammates all the time.

Can you let me know if this is happening with a particular project? Which version of V-Ray are you using - you can check in V-Ray > About.
Would it be possible to share a screen-recording demonstrating the issue?

This is happening with all my projects.
I found a workaround. I have to make a modification to the scene prior to saving it, then, the Pack scene lets me pack the scene. But as I said before, if I Open any scene and I try to Pack it. I get the pack saving message all the time with any scene.

Using the latest V-Ray update 5.1.1

Thanks for clarifying, this seems to indeed happen if I try to open any existing scene. It happens only with update 1.1 - I've logged this in our internal bug-tracking system under VRW-3155 for developer investigation. Thanks for the pointer!

We'll keep you posted when there are any updates on the matter. For the time being, making a small change and then reverting it seems to be a workaround if you do not wish to apply any modifications to your projects.

I just installed the new build V-Ray 5 1.2 and this still an issue.
I open a new scene and I want to pack it and V-Ray keep asking me to save the scene that I recently open before pack it.

I just tested packing an existing project and I did not get the save message.
Can you give me the exact steps that lead to your issue?

What I did to test this is:
- Save a scene
- Open the saved scene
- Pack the project

This is what I did
- Installed the new V-Ray
- Open a Scene (I didn't save it with this new build, the scene was already in my HD)
- when to the V-Ray menu and click Pack Scene

and I got the message.
I will do another test and let you know what I get.

Hello, Javier,
When you open a project that has been last saved using an older V-Ray version, such as the one you showed in your screen recording, the first thing that happens is all of its V-Ray data is upgraded.
This automatic action actually modifies your scene, hence when attempting to pack it you are prompted to save the project with its latest changes. This is expected behavior.

As the message states, please keep in mind that when saving a project that has just been upgraded it will not be loaded correctly using older V-Ray versions.
