  • swarm and zerotier

    Hello,

is it possible to set up the swarm service using only the zerotier IP adresses and not the physical IP adress of the network card ?

    Thanks!

Could you please specify what is the exact reason you want the Swarm service to use the zerotier ip address instead of the normal ip address?
Please have in mind that the machines used for Distributed Rendering should be located in the same local area network, so they can work/render properly and fast.
If the machines are located in virtual networks and their access is through VPN or VLAN located on another site and distance, the Swarm distributed rendering could be impossible or really slow.

Also if you have more that one Ethernet adapter, we recommend pointing(edit/add) the Ethernet adapter used for Swarm DR in the followjng config file:
    "C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\Swarm 1.4\config.yaml"

It should look like the following:

    network:
    port: 24267
interface: 'Ethernet0' // This entry needs to be changed according to the Ethernet network adapter, which will be used for Swarm DR

Then the config file should be saved and the V-Ray Swarm service be restarted under the Services.
Let me know if that helped you.

We actually have 2 sites, all conntected through 1gbit internet connection, so globally as fast as the local network.

Some of the workstations on the 2 different sites are also connnected through Zerotier to make them independant from the other people. The idea is that some of the people can only swarm locally, and some can work trough the zerotier.
