  • Motion blur with Rhino + Vray

    Hi everyone,

I have worked in the sUAS space for the last 4- 5 years and as such have had to render many drones in still images. The fastest way I can make the props appear to blur is to cut them out in photoshop, spin blur each one, then combine them back together.... I'm currently using Rhino 7 + Vray and have messed around with Bongo a bit.

Anyone have any ideas that can get me motion blur on just the prop without spending a bunch of time in aftereffects or photoshop?

    Thanks!

I miss object motion blur for still images a lot too. The render plugin Maxwell for Rhino supported it some years before - the user was able to select curves to define the object motion.

A workaround is to use texture like attached. I rendered a front view and applied a motion blur per PS. I used this texture for transparency and bump of a black plastic material. I can't show the whole model, but I hope the section views explain it.
