I'm trying to draw a path in a grass field using vray Scatter and in the density slot a Distance map. I'm properly selecting the object where i want to exclude the scatter( black zone) but it doesn't work. Wile doing the same manipulation with Fur works. Is the new Distance procedural map compatible with the density slot of Scatter?

Thank you for your question.
You are correct that Distance texture works with Fur, we have a video tutorial for it as well, hope it helps.
But Scatter Density does not work with Raytraced textures, it is advised to use Procedural or Bitmap textures to specify Scatter Density.
