  • Mysterious Ambient/Global Light, Cant Turn Off

There seems to be some sort of ambient/global light source which I cant find/turn off. I've turned off the sun, and the skylight but my scene is still illuminated, shouldnt it be pitch black? Even at an Exposure Value of 12-16 my scene is still visible.

Screen shots of my render window and lights panel. As you can see, its dark but not black which it should be absent of any lights. Im trying to set up a render but this base of ambient light is completely throwing me off, I feel like I dont have complete control of my scene. Is there an option that I am unaware of? If I crank my exposure to ~20 to get it to be completely black, then I simply cant make any lights bright enough to register.

    Hello dash_maxwell,
    Thank you for your post.

Please note that by default the V-Ray scene is illuminated using the RhinoDefault HDRI map in the Background slot. If you need you can disable it in the V-Ray Asset Editor Environment settings:
