files crashing upon second render

Odd issue i'm having:

I open this file:

http://www.humanape.com/media/asgvis/
(please keep to forum members only)

Hit render
select the back of the seat
change the color
hit render again.

For whatever reason, rhino crashes. somtimes with a memory error and sometimes not.

anyone else?
