Something is wrong with the bimap format. Besides the flipping when you convert bmp to jpg in acdsee, there is another problem. When you want to open a render from vray for rhino as a texture in max, it says 'unsupported bmp image file'. What could this be?

    bitmap format

currently our bitmaps are non-compressed just regular old bitmaps. I am unsure what the issue is with max, but I will see if I can figure out the problem. For the next build I'm shooting for having much better support of the various file formats. I apologize for any inconveniance the current lack of support is causing.

Also Photoshop (6.0) is unable to open the bmp, while I had no problem opening them in faststone viewer.

Photoshop CS2 has problems opening any format of file saved from the buffer window, not sure why...

          .bmp works perfectly...
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

the bmp/tga/tiff issues are all resolved now. I am not totally sure why some programs disliked my previous bmp format, but it appears that they work fine now. This will be incorporated in the next build.
