  • stopping render causes freeze

    Hello all,

    Build 6

sphere in a box with point light. (simple blue diff/with reflection on sphere)
    (box is default material)
    hit render
    cancel render

    Rhino freezes.

Did it twice in 2 separate instances ......same result.

    later, chris.

btw: ......liking the smaller & friendlier Mat Ed.

Can you please email the scene to us at vrfrhino@asgvis.com. I cannot reproduce this.

      Hi Corey,

It doesn't seem to be the individual scene. I've tried it with multiple scenes.... opening and closing rhino to create 'clean' scenes. ...same thing.

      Just to rephrase the problem:

If i cancel a render then i can't get Rhino to respond, but if i let the render finish. No problem. I don't have to re-boot, just end the Rhino process with task manager will do.

So, ...if you still want a scene that's fine , ....let me know. chris.

Ahh..ok I think I see what you are talking about. Use ESC to cancel the rendering from now on. The close dialog button does not abort the render.

Hi Corey- it looks here like Esc after closing the Vray window also does not abort the rendering.

Yes...ESC does not abort the rendering if you have closed the dialog.

If you all want to cancel a render pressing ESC while the VFB is open will abort the render. Do not try and cancel the rendering with the close dialog button. In this case V-Ray continues to render. This is supposed to be this way. In the end I believe what we are shooting for is giving the user the ability to render and save an image without using resources to show the VFB.

              Best regards,

              Corey
