When I'm rendering, I can minimize the frame buffer window but not the Rhino window.

this is because in your build the render window is modal, which means you cannot interact in any way with the Rhino window until rendering is done. We're probably going to get rid of modal rendering outright soon enough. We're testing it right now actually. But until then, I am not sure if you can do much to avoid this.

What would be really cool is if McNeel had the option to right click the render window's title bar and attach and detach like Maya has. This would suite both those people that like the render window contained within the program and those who would like to minimize the render window and go back to work.
