On a dual core you can see two beetles scramble over the screen. I ask me, if I use a AMD3800X2 with HT, should I see 4 calculation fields?

This image is from an IBM T40p laptop 1.6 PM FireGL graphic card. I have generally 2 beetles on my stationary machine P4 HT 3GH. I just recently change to a laptop!

            Comput,

HT = Hyper Threading which for V-Ray equals another bucket or beetle. I am not sure if your laptop supports HyperThreading. If it does HT is probably not enabled. That's my guess anyway.

Corey, should I see on a AMD3800X2 HT four buckets? But I see only two.

AMD does not support hyperthreading. You'll only see two buckets.... I could be wrong about the HT abbreviation.

                    "beetles" ?
That is cute, haven't heard that expression before ... the don't look like beetles though, do they ?
(on the other hand. they do make a render "sing" :P )

A friend from has seen the small buckets from some meters behind me at the screen of my new machine and was wondering about the beetles on my screen. And I was wondering how fast the two beetles are.

Hmm, my machine is a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ and in the BIOS I can see this options

                        HT Frequency - AUTO
                        Hper Transport Voltage

                        Any ideas?
