  • RCM bug

    Hi everyone !

I installed the VRay plug-in for Rhino recently, and got this message concerning the RCM plug-in :

    http://www.box.net/public/k586eb2n1t

On the Rhino Newsgroup, I was told to install the Brazil plug-in, which I did (still not have a license server running though).
    The message has disappeared....

Any idea when the VRay for Rhino V4 plug-in will be released ?

    Cheers !

      RCM bug

This goes along with this thread. I am trying to apply a "decal" to the stern of a boat. (It's the name of the boat.)
I followed Micha's tutorial but it's not working. I can't get the lettering to rotate. The widget grips work, but even when I rotate it nothing changes when I render.
At one point I even grabbed the center widget grip to move it and Rhino closed with no "RCM dump" warning or anything.
Has anyone had any luck rotating the mappings?

      Thanks,
      Craig

        RCM bug

I finally got this to work by re-creating the surface. I was using a polysurface- does the RCM not work with these? Once I started using the surface I could rotate the widget. It still crashed if I pick the center grip and use "move".

Mapping does work on polysurfaces, but in general with RCM its relatively hit or miss as far as creating mapping. Usually I've found that its best to type in as much information as you can. RCM doesn't always like manuvering the widget. Just to check, you should have planar mapping as the projection type and uncheck the tile option in the texture editor. Another option is to select the object then press F10 to get object points and manipulate that. Hope this helps.

It was brought to my attention that I did breeze over your actual question - my apologies for that.

That message box should only pop up if RCM.dll is not present on your machine or if some registry items are not in place. Both of which should have been done by our installer. Are you using some old version of our product? Did you previously have Brazil installed on your machine? Sorry for the delay in my response.

              Hi Joeb !

In fact I did install Brazil previously.
(Still waiting for the licensing stuff though...)

Actually, I re-booted, and things went back to normal, thanks !

Can't wait to try out the Rhino V4 version...

              Thanks !
