Rendering is hanging on simple object

... this rendering is hanging at this simple object. Why? I have seen this at other scenes in universal mode several times. If I set the material of the plate to a material from the material editor, than it works. So, the Rhino material seems to be a problem. Hey, now the bug should be easy catched.

I'll play around with the scene when I have a minute - I'm sure its something odd with the way I handle basic rhino materials.
