  • Vray for Rhino Noise

    Hi,

I try to use the noise for some effects, but I have the feeling many parameters dosn't work - for example "octaves". Or do I something wrong?

The big advantage of the noise is, that it seems to be a volume noise, I mean, it's independent from the Rhino mapping (and the mapping errors) and show no jumps at surface edges/joins. It can be use for freeform surfaces without think about the mapping type.

Should it be possible to use it for a brush effect? My test show me no effect for different uv scales.

    Re: Vray for Rhino Noise

    Hi Micha
The setting for the noise options are general for all type of noise. The regular noise doesn't have octaves. I you need to use the octaves you should use perling noise. If you set the octaves to one in the perlin noise and click preview you will see the same preview than the normal" noise, but if you change that value bigger than one, you'll start to see the octave effect.

Ah, nice. Thank you. Could it be possible that the noise follow UV coordinates? I try to create a brush effect without texture maps.
