  • Texture breaking up

Hi, I'm having problems applying a texture to a surface. Works fine on a surface in one file, but on a very similarly sized and shaped surface in another file, it breaks up into squares - bit like a chequer-board. Identical settings, size, mapping etc. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks

    Jack

    Re: Texture breaking up

Hmmm - when I hide all the scene componenst other than the surface it renders the texture perfectly, unhide the other components and it does the chequer board pattern.... (there are no duplicate surfaces or such like. So I get get the final version in two renders + photoshop, but still a nuisance.

Any idea why this is happening

It's always hard in these forums to know what the problem is from just an explanation, but if you post an image of the problem then I'm sure someone will be able to help you alot quicker.

Could be caused by intersecting surfaces - are you shure that only one surface is placed?

I would have to agree with Micha. Intersecting or duplicate surfaces are the only things that I can think of that might cause this problem. Have you tried extracting the surface into a new file and seeing if you get the same problem?
