  • Rhino SR5 and DR - problems!

Apologies if it's been mentioned already, but the latest Rhino service release - SR5, appears to prevent distributed rendering from working.

My machine is running SR5 and the slave machines are on the previous service release and it cannot seem to communicate to the slaves. When I use SR4 machines on their own, DR works fine!

Your license legal? If there is no problem because of this.

      You can frighten me.

Anything works fine here, only it was necessary to add the slave names to the DR option again.

Re: Rhino SR5 and DR - problems!

Rhino service releases should have no affect on V-Ray working at all, and there is no practical reason why any Rhino issue should affect the spawners either (since the spawners are a completely separate application). What will cause issues is having a different version of VfR installed that the version of the Spawners. These must both be from the same build in order to work correctly.

Rhino and V-ray licences fully legal thank you very much!

Got to the bottom of the problem - lead machine was running V-Ray core 01.05.29, the slaves all had 01.05.04. Updated them all and it runs fine now.

V-ray update on my machine happened to coincide with the Rhino SR installation which caused me to point the finger rather prematurely!

          Thanks for your help.
