  • Missing shadows at reflections?

    Hi,

today I found, that some times shadows are missing at reflections, if the speed up LC option "use for glossy rays" is enabled. The important option to get the shadows back is the LC sample size.

LC sample size 0.02 (default value?)

    LC sample size 0.002

This looks more like a bug than anything else. That's really odd as I've never necessarily seen that before. Also, decreasing the sample size is an interesting work around, but it will make the LC solution more noisy, generally requires more subDs, and also lengthens the merging process a little bit as well.

Hmm, but isn't logical? A high sample size cause a bluring of the lighting details at the reflections. I'm curious what you find more.

Hi Damien, could you move the topic back to the tutorials? Here it will be lost and I'm quite sure it's not a bug.

How is this not a bug?

If the LC pass resolution is to low and filtered to much, than the shadows at the reflections are extrem blury ("use for glossy rays" enabled) and are sometimes not right visible. At my first example "without" shadows you can see the very blury shadows, the LC GI is to smoothed.
