DRspawner - windows 7 not compatible with windows XP

I am running the DRspawner on 4 render nodes. 2 of them are running XP, 2 of them are running windows 7.

Only the XP machines in my office can connect to the 2 that are running XP

And only win 7 machines can connect to the 2 that are running 7.

They cannot interchange at all!!

Is there a fix?? A part from upgrading everything to win 7.

hmm, that should work. Did you install the DR Spawner as an admin? Do you have your firewalls configured to allow the ports we use for DR?

Yes - otherwise I would not be able to get it to work with any of the machines.

Currently I can render using the nodes if the operating systems are the same. But they do not work if they are not.

Which would suggest that the firewalls are all correct, otherwise I would not be able to render regardless.

hey, as far as i have experienced it, it works well.
in my office i use an xp machine and sometimes my notebook (win 7) as a slave.
It works...
