  • VRay for Rhino won't load

I had VRay for Rhino working great. I then tried to install and config DRS Spawner and everything went to H***.

I've turned DRS Spawner off and restarted the computer and Rhino still won't load VRay. I get the below error message.

"Can not enumerate files in directory 'C:\ProgramData\ASGvis\Option' (error3:the system cannot find the path specified.)"

I'm running a 64 bit machine with Windows 7. Never had any issues till now.

ASGvis really needs to improve their support. This submit a ticket and wait 2-4 days is ridiculous. I'm dead in the water waiting on ASGvis support. They need to follow Rhino's support philosophy (the best out there). I've never waited more than one hour (during normal working hours) for email support. The Rhino tech support group always has the answers. They have even written me scripts to make my workflow easier.

OK, got that off my chest. Now, back to the task at hand.

    Any help is appreciated.

Re: VRay for Rhino won't load

The 2-4 business day wait isn't how long you should typically have to wait for a response. If you've waited that long, or longer for a response... please let us know. During times of high volume, it is possible for us to get bogged down to a point where you may need to wait a couple days for a response, but typically you'll get a response within a day's time. So far it's been 20 minutes since you posted on the forum (which isn't where you go to get support from ASGvis, it's where you go to talk to other members of the community). Your frustration is understandable, but please be patient, Keith will get to your support request shortly.

As for the issue itself, the error message says that the directory 'C:\ProgramData\ASGvis\Option' can't be found? That's odd. Have you tried to find that folder using windows explorer? Something tells me that when you installed the DR Spawner, something went wrong with the install. I would suggest doing a full uninstall of V-Ray for Rhino, and then doing a nice clean install (and make sure you're installing the DR Spawner when doing this install).
