  • Slave returning different values in render

I finally got my farm started. The problem is, now it is giving me very strange results. The slave gives different lightng values, as well as sometimes not even rendering with a texture. I thought this may have something to do with the slave not seeing the map, but some of the blocks were rendering with the texture while others were not. I noticed in the render progress window that it said 'sub-pixel' may be throwing it off, so I even unchecked that to the same results. Any ideas?

I figured out that this was caused by directing the slave to a specific folder for the maps. By distributing the maps to each node, it solved the problem.

I have the same problem. Unfortuantelly changing any of Distributed Rendering options doesn't help. I can use vray only without distributed rendering.

We are currently working on addressing some additional DR related issues that cause mismatched buckets. We hope to have all of them resolved in the next public beta build.

I had this problem too. It you make sure all of your maps and textures are also on the slave machine in the same directory it should fix it.

Or create a local folder called C:\vray and put all of your materials in it. Then create a local mapped drive letter Z:\ that points to C:\Vray then on all of your nodes create a Z:\ that points to the servers c:\vray as well and that will generally solve all black block issues. This way the local 3dm is looking for materials in Z:\ and so are all of the nodes.

I have a problem with slightly patchy depth of field when distributed rendering is on. Has anyone else found this? Any news on a fix?

Maybe that is what you ment by this:
