    Hi
    Is this normal
    V4 old vray 32bits is faster than new VRay ommercial build V5 64bits (dongle)....

    59s in v4
    1m15 in V5

    SAME SETTINGS SAME MATERIALS SAME VIEWPORT SAME EVERYTHING

    I remember that beta was much faster than my v4 version...
    Please let me know this is anoying...

    If you are using old scene with old setting, you may have a small difference in speed. Yes. We have some changes on the V-Ray Core to improve the sampling on the darker areas.

      Well... I dont know this is Rhino 5 64bits It should compensate... smal differnce on a basic file could end up in large minutes in a complexe file..

        If you look closely the two images, the one rendered with VfR 1.5 is more precise, you have better shadows and less splotches. SO if you want the same result as in the past just reduce the setting and I guarantee you that you are going to have the same quality and even faster render. I made a test some time ago and I could get the same anti-aliasing quality of threshold 0.01 (in the old build) using 0.04 (in the new build) and the render was way fast. Of course this all depend of the scene composition.

            Swisscad, could you look at the time for the LC pass please? I have a scene here where the LC pass is much slower at 1.5, maybe it's the same in your case.
