RT material background not working

  • RT material background not working

    I'm using the v-ray for rhino 4 version 1.50.221 (32bit) and I was using the RT and I noticed that the black reflective ground plane I was using would not work properly when using RT, but it would work correctly with a regular render or production render. I found that it's because the RT is not seeing my ground plane Map - background. It only sees the general environment background during the RT renders. Once I switch back to a normal render it works just fine. Any idea why?

    Well, I sent it into support. It's a known issue and will be fixed in the next patch.

      Hmm,
      I just installed the newest update 225 for v-ray 1.5 and this issue was never fixed. I hope they fix it in the next patch because I can't use RT until it's fixed. Look at the diamond that has maps applied and compare.

        Per default the max trace depth of the RT engine is quite low for faster calculation. Did you try a higher value?

          No I haven't tried that yet, but I will, but here is another scene with the same concept but with the background that has a map applied. Same issue. RT is not supporting it. They said they fixed it, but I don't see that it is yet unless I'm using it wrong.

            Hi Dana
            Please send a bug report ticket and include the scene file and all the texture. This is the easy way to look and track the bugs,

              Thanks, I submitted the bug and scenes. Now I'm just waiting on a reply. Hopefully all will go well and it's something simple.

                I got a reply. Looks like there is still a bug with the background. The exit color of the reflection is locked to black with RT. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.
