I'm not sure if this could be considered as a bug or not, but I thought I'd post here anyway.
I'm trying to find a really nice texture to use for displacement of waves on my sea surface. I used to use a mixture of noise and an inverted smoke map in Max which worked really well. Unfortunately the procedural maps in Rhino seem to be different and I end up with repeating patterns and long sharp lines which run off into the distance which make the water look terrible.
The best map I've found so far is the MaxNoise texture with the type set to 1. But this still gives me the lines that run across the texture (see pic below, noticeable top right - just above the boat and bottom left below the boat). It becomes even more noticeable in high res renders.
Am I missing some settings or could this be easily changed for a future build?
Rob.
